Hello, Floriane, first of all thank you for taking the time to answer our questions! Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
My name is Floriane Léost, I am 27 years old and I live in Brest with my boyfriend, Florian, and my cat, Mauricette (yes, I’m introducing my entire family, it’s important).
I’m passionate about (beautiful) photography and I share my daily life on my Instagram, Floriane_lt, the account that I’ve had for 4 years now: everything from me splitting my time between Paris and Brest, my recipes, looks, to good plans, good spots and travels.
My little extra? A touch of humor, a big dose of self-deprecation, and a rather… distinct character!
What made you want to create your own Instagram account?
It just happened. I started by sharing photos of my daily life, my small dishes, I showed interest in other people’s accounts and it grew from there.
In December 2015, at my readers’ request, I created my blog, L'instant Flo, in order to be able to share more things and chat a little more.
What are some accounts that inspire you and that you particularly like?
We’ve read in your bio that you’ve been dedicating yourself fully to your blog since April 2017; what does a typical day look like for an influencer?
Yes, it’s true! I have 3 years of experience as a web-marketing project manager in the automotive sector and I’ve been in the digital sector for a very long time, having studied in this field. As I was craving new challenges, I decided to devote myself to my blog full time for a few months and I feel like I’ve really blossomed. I get up early quite often, around 7am, I have a good breakfast and I go to the gym. Then the day goes by at a crazy speed: I read and answer e-mails, I write articles for my blog, I take photos for the blog or my Instagram, then it turns out it’s already 8 pm! It’s time to get in the kitchen and it’s already evening. It’s a day at the office but the office is at home and I’m doing what I love :)
You’ve started dedicating yourself to your blog quite recently and so we're a little curious. Could you tell us more about your future projects, and how do picture yourself in the upcoming months?
No projects in particular, just more traveling! With the blog, I get the chance to travel more than before so some nice getaways are coming up. I would also like to start talking about local stuff more and show people some great things to do when in Brittany and Finistère. These are questions that my readers regularly ask. I would also like to make more videos.
We had to make a detour on your blog’s "food" section, it’s so very tempting! Do you have any good spots to share with us?
I try a lot of Parisian spots so it’s impossible to mention them all, but I’ll do a recap article for my blog soon and I’ll include all my favorite spots.
We discovered your Youtube channel; is it something that you wish to develop more in the future? Could you give some advice to our readers who wish but don’t yet have the courage to get on Youtube?
Yes, I’ve just started it and I am not exactly what you would call a regular poster, but it’s a platform that I like. I have such a great time on Snapchat, so I just said to myself "why not Youtube"! The difficult part is feeling at ease in front of the camera but then that goes away. You just have to imagine that your friend’s in front of you and chatting becomes so much easier!
Where did you get this desire to travel and your passion for fashion that represent and drive such a big part of your blog?
I didn’t travel too much as a child, so I make up for it right now. I always discover new places where I’d like to go when I wander around Pinterest or Instagram. I put all of those on my wish list. When it comes to fashion, I became interested in it about 5 or 6 years ago, probably when I started following foreign influencers.
We are already in the middle of summer, what are some of your favorites this season?
Right now, I’d say one-piece swimsuits, wicker baskets, and like every summer, white lace dresses.
You are the first Brestoise we get to interview; do you have any good spots you’d like to share with our readers?
That’s unfortunately something that Brest kind of lacks! There is “Le Tour du Monde” for some great fried mussels, “Le Gout Thé” for a tea between girls, and “Meat Couture” near Recouvrance for a good burger lunch on Saturdays.
If you were to choose a Comptoirs d'Orta piece for your next trip, which would it be?
I’d pick the striped gray Anna top and I’d pair it with denim shorts and a beautiful tan, such a great combo!
We want to thank Floriane for taking the time to answer our questions and we wish her the best! Keep up the good work!
